The Arizona Travel ID Driver License is an official identification card that meets the enhanced security standards set by the Federal Real ID Act.
The Travel ID Driver License adds an embedded star that proves your ID meets the new federal identification requirements. Beginning May 7, 2025, only the Arizona Travel ID Driver License (or State Identification Card), a U.S. passport, and other federally approved identification will be accepted at TSA airport security checkpoints for domestic travel.
Why Get an Arizona Travel ID Driver License?
While it’s not required, consider getting one if:
- You often travel domestically and want to leave multiple forms of identification at home, as they are costly and hard to replace.
- You’ll need to enter a federal building or military base
- You want to avoid making a second trip and paying for another Driver License if you change your mind later.
